At some time we have each heard the expression, “It goes without saying.” But does it really ?
In the beginning of Genesis where we are told God said, “Let there be Light.” In the beginning of John’s gospel we are told, “In the beginning was the Word.”
Throughout human relationships both in fiction and in reality we see events that entirely depend upon someone’s communication. How sad are the families where a father never tells the child, “I love you.” How many young women long to hear the question, “Will you marry me ?” How seldom we hear the simple statement, “I forgive you.”
Take a moment and ponder, how many things in your relationships do you just assume everyone knows but you have never said ?
Here is a simple reality: Most things that you think would go without saying, probably will not. But everything you think should go without saying, will go better if you actually say it.
The reason people want things to go without saying is this. If I never say it then no one can hold me accountable for it.
If you mean it to be true, SAY IT !
