As many of you know, I spend significant portions of my time chatting on the telephone or computer with friends around the world. I really like my work.
This morning I was with a friend in Europe and the conversation took a wonderful trek through the concepts of His Grace that sets us free from all guilt and condemnation and releases us to believe in ourselves and the amazing Anointed One in each believer.
As we talked I was struck by the contrast between Kingdom dwellers and satan. You recall that the conflict between God and satan revolves around Lucifer (the angel of light) arrogantly proclaiming himself to be the equal of God. “I will make myself like the Most High.” (See Isaiah14:14). It is Perhaps the ultimate paradox. The enemy proclaims himself like God by his own actions. The followers of Jesus by His sacrifice and the work of Holy Spirit are transformed and in their humility actually are made sons of God and joint heirs with Jesus who is God.
Humility is never in denying the greatness of who you are. Rather it lies in the certainty that every good thing in you or flowing from you comes as a completely undeserved gift from God.
If you want an interesting thought to ponder, meditate about the humility of Jesus. He, who was and is and always will be God, chose to empty Himself giving up His power, His position, His prior knowledge, and His personal prerogatives in order to become like us. And He chose to not even make Himself the greatest of us by our standards. He made himself a humble servant to Father God and to us, one willing to wash our feet.
His, thus Yours,
Stuart
