Good Morning, it is time to rejoice over the mercies of God that are new to us every morning. I am sitting in the lawyer’s chair at my friend’s law office in western North Carolina. The sky this morning is a beautiful blue and the temperatures are cool but pleasant. The sun is shining brightly. The moon has been near a full moon the last couple of nights. I heard a friend comment that a lunar eclipse was expected.
Have you noticed the symbolism in how the moon functions. In the dark of night, the sunlight reflected from the surface of the moon gives proof that the sun is still shining even though we are unable to see the sun itself. Jesus is the light of the world. Even when people cannot directly see Him, we are intended to reflect him so that in seeing us they have proof of His continuing grace and goodness. Occasionally, like the lunar eclipse, the affairs of this world get between Jesus and I and most of the light I would normally reflect gets blocked out. But even then Jesus is so powerful that some of his light will reach me and those who watch will still see a little of Him reflected in me. On other rare occasions, like the solar eclipse, I will come between Jesus and people. Then, even though am not reflecting His light toward the people, He is so much bigger than I am that around the edges of me people who want to see him can still find His light.
Are you reflecting Jesus today ?
His, thus Yours,
Stuart
