Good morning, when I was a child people referred to seasons like this as an “Indian Summer.” I never heard what it is about India that made that name appropriate. But it was always a time when the weather got hot again after one thought it had cooled off for the Autumn season. I guess now we just turn the air conditioner on once again.
I was chuckling to myself a bit ago as I thought about some of the responses my blog entries have generated. I usually do not write these entries in order to express my own emotions. I try to hear Holy Spirit about what He wants you to hear. Usually I tell some sort of anecdote to make the point more real. Obviously, the stories I know best are ones of my own failures and foibles. Often the responses I receive seem to totally miss the underlying point of the story.
As I was thinking of this, I remembered a story an old apostle told me. He was sitting in his office talking with a fellow who should have been listening. After he made a point the fellow argued, “You cannot show me that in the Scriptures !” My apostle friend was half way around His desk to get his Bible when Holy Spirit spoke saying, “He is right, you know.” My friend responded to God saying, “No, he is not right. It is right there in Galatians.” Holy Spirit spoke again saying, “But he is right. YOU cannot show it to him !”
Oh so very often, we fall into the trap of Satan. We believe our powers of logic and explanation will reveal things to our friends and/or our opponents. But, revelation comes to the hearts of men and women by the still small voice of Holy Spirit not by our arguments.
His, thus Yours,
Stuart
Thank you. I needed this today ❤

I am not familiar with this word “foibles”. I’ll have to look it up in the dictionary. Not sure what is meant by that word. 🙂
Your correct. I often times believe the powers of logic and explanation will reveal things to people. And that listening to you will reveal things to me. I often times leave out this simple truth that revelation comes to the hearts of men and women by the still small voice of Holy Spirit not by our arguments, logic or fine ability to explain things. I needed this today. Thank you.
