Good Morning ! It is a bright sunny day here in Lubbock, Texas. I have had a couple cheerful conversations and now have my second cup of coffee and some time with you. It would be very nice if you could be here with me as we chat. I do so enjoy the times we have when we can talk face to face. However, because we like to follow Holy Spirit instructions that will have to wait for another day. Perhaps one day He will ask you to invite me to stay with you for a little while so we can really talk in depth.
One evening recently I was driving across town with a friend. I wondered aloud why the driver of the car behind me was following dangerously close to the back of our car. My friend jokingly suggested that maybe it was my guardian angel. I responded, “No, any angel assigned to me would have much better judgement than to follow so close.” It was some fun light-hearted banter. Neither of us were being serious. And it was a great way to defuse the tension I was feeling about having a car right on my bumper so close that I could not safely slam on the brakes should something happen in front of us.
Now most of you know about my fascination with Jesus’s statement that we are being sent as He was sent. So the next morning I was cheerfully driving along the same street. As I was driving Holy Spirit spoke to me and reminded me that when Jesus was sent angels were given responsibility for His protection. So, He asks me, “Do you accept the angels protecting you or not ?”
As I look back at my life, I see many times when I was sovereignly protected and saved from harm.
I choose to accept the protection He so graciously offers.
